Rollover Crash Leaves One Man Injured

A man was seriously injured in the 7200 block of Rainier Ave. South when the car he was riding in swerved to avoid a Metro bus and then flipped on its side around 3:15 p.m.

Witnesses saw the car speeding northbound in the 7200 block of Rainier Ave. South when the driver attempted to pass a Metro bus.  The car careened onto the sidewalk striking a fence, and then hitting a tree flipping the car onto its passenger side.  The driver of the totaled car ran away leaving his injured passenger inside the vehicle.

Seattle Police arrived and found the injured passenger, who suffered severe facial injuries, still inside the car.

Seattle Fire Department Medics responded and transported the passenger to Harborview Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A woman who was struck by the fence was also transported to Harborview Medical Center for unknown injuries.

Traffic Collision Investigaton Detectives responded to the scene and will conduct the followup investigation.  Anyone who may have witnessed the collision are asked to call investigators at (206) 684-8934.
