Stick up Man Caught in the Act of Robbing Lake City Business

A 27-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday after robbing a Lake City Way 7-11 store with a realistic looking pellet gun.

An officer was flagged down by a passerby near the 7-11, shortly after 4 a.m., in the 3200 block of NE 145th Street regarding a suspicious person inside the store. When the officer looked inside, he saw a masked robber pointing a gun at the store clerk, whose hands were raised in the air.

The suspect left the store while the lone officer was waiting for backup. The officer ordered him to drop his weapon. The suspect did so and was held at gunpoint until other officers arrived. He was arrested without incident.

The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery. The pellet gun replica of a Colt 1911 style handgun was placed into evidence.
