Officers Arrest Gunman After Early Morning Shooting Outside Pancake House

Police quickly arrested a gunman early Tuesday, minutes after a second man burst into the International House of Pancakes on First Hill and screamed that someone was trying to shoot him

When officers arrived at the IHOP around 2:45 AM, witnesses told police they saw the 31-year-old victim arguing with two men outside the restaurant shortly before one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and fired three shots at the victim. Witnesses then saw the gunman toss his pistol in the trunk of a silver Mercedes and speed away.

Patrol officers caught up to the Mercedes at 14th Avenue and E. Pike Street, arrested the driver and booked him into the King County Jail for the shooting.

Officers released a second man and three women, who had all been with the gunman during the incident but refused to discuss the shooting with officers.
