A Link light rail train and a van collided at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Brandon St. late Friday afternoon.
The driver of the van made a left turn in a clearly marked “No Left Turn” intersection and was struck by the oncoming southbound train.
The train was full of rush hour commuters at the time of the crash. Four people were taken to Harborview Medical Center and one to Children’s Hospital, all with minor injuries.
The train sustained substantial damage and was towed from the scene.
Officers are investigating this collision and are trying to determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
