Police arrested a felon and confiscated his AK47 semi-automatic rifle and a .44 caliber revolver after he reportedly got in an argument with a teenager at a Rainier Beach home.
A woman reported she became frightened Tuesday night when her long-time boyfriend argued with her 14-year-old son and then retrieved two guns and put them in the trunk of his car.
Police, responding to the woman’s 911 call, discovered her boyfriend was a felon, and not allowed to possess weapons. Officers got a search warrant and arrested the suspect, who’d told police he’d sold the weapons and no longer had them. However, officers found the rifle and handgun when they opened the unlatched trunk of his car.
The rifle was reported stolen in 2004. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
