Armed Men Burst into Beacon Hill Home, Steal Jewelry

Several armed, masked men broke into a Beacon Hill home early Tuesday, forced a five-member family into rear bedroom and pistol-whipped the homeowner before stealing several pieces of jewelry and fleeing.

The victims reported they heard a loud bang at their front door of their home in the 4700 block of 30th Avenue South around 2:45 AM. When the homeowner and another resident went to investigate the noise, they came upon an armed man, who pointed a laser-sighted handgun at them.

As many as six men, all wearing masks and dark clothing, entered the home and forced the family, including children, into a bedroom. They ransacked the home and stole jewelry before leaving. Several of the suspects reportedly carried guns.

The 50-year-old homeowner suffered a laceration on the back of his head from the pistol-whipping and was taken to Swedish Hospital for treatment. Officers searched the area but did not find the suspects. Robbery detectives are investigating the incident.
