Officers Make Arrest on Child Luring and Shots Fired Incident

Officers on Tuesday arrested a 33-year-old man who fired a gun in the Brighton neighborhood, and also tried to lure children into his car in the same area.

Officers responded to reports of shots being fired in the area of Rainier Avenue South and South Graham Street around 3:15 PM. Three nearby schools had their students “shelter in place” as a precaution.

At about the same time, someone called 911 to report that a man, with the same description as the suspect firing the gun, was trying to lure several children into his car.

A witness pointed out the suspect to officers who arrested him and recovered a loaded handgun. Victims also confirmed the same man was trying to lure children into his car.

The suspect is being booked in to King County Jail for numerous crimes stemming from the shooting and child luring incident.
