Man Arrested for Double Carjacking Attempt In Georgetown

Police arrested a man, high on crack cocaine, late Monday after he tried to carjack two motorists at a Georgetown gas station.

A large middle-aged man, 6-foot, 225 pounds, wearing blue sweats, reportedly approached his first victim around 10:30 PM as he was getting into a car at the station in the 6200 block of Corson Avenue South. The suspect opened the victim’s car door and told him “get out of the car.” The victim briefly wrestled with the suspect over the car door, and was able to drive across the street to another business, where he called police.

The suspect then approached a second victim, who was sitting in his car at the station, and told him “let me in your car, unlock your car.” The victim ran into the gas station and called police.

The suspect was still at the station when officers arrived. He told police he’d been smoking crack cocaine. Officers confiscated a glass pipe and a folding knife from him and booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
