Police Make Arrest On Cell-Phone Robbery Downtown

Officers arrest a robbery suspect hours after the strong-arm robbery, with the help of a valiant valet.

Several suspects surrounded a woman visiting Seattle at 6th Ave and Pike Street, just after 7 PM Monday evening. A female robber then grabbed a cell-phone from the victim’s hand whilst another woman grabbed the victim’s purse pulling her to the ground. The victim suffered a minor injury to her knee during the robbery.

Meanwhile a vigilant valet witnessed the female purse-snatcher pass the handbag to a male accomplice. The valet gabbed a hold of the robber and his ill-gotten goods, snatching the purse back and returned it to the victim. The male and female purse robbers fled the area.

Officers arrived quickly and broadcast a description of the robbers and searched the area to no avail.

Two hours later West Precinct Emphasis patrol officers saw possible suspect based on the earlier description. Officers stopped the teen, and with the help of the valet witness, confirmed her as the earlier cell-phone robber.

Officers arrested the teen and booked her into the King County Youth Service Center on investigation of robbery and a warrant.
