One Person Shot in Sunday Morning Shooting In Denny Triangle

Detectives are investigating after a shooting in the Denny Triangle neighborhood ended with one person shot and four injured while fleeing the scene Sunday morning.

Witnesses called 911 to report shots fired near Denny Way and Stewart St. at 1 AM. Sunday morning. They said that everyone involved fled the scene including one in a distinctive orange car.

Washington State Patrol troopers advised officers they were investigating a crash on I-5 at Union St. involving an orange Dodge. Troopers then discovered one of the occupants had a gunshot wound. Seattle Police Officers escorted a witness to the crash scene only to be told that one of the passengers in the car was also a shooter at the original scene.

Officers arrested the 25-year-old suspect and later booked him into King County Jail.

Medics transported the 25-year-old shooting victim to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in serious condition with gunshot wounds to his leg and stomach. Medics rushed four more occupants of the car to HMC, for treatment of non-life threatening injuries suffered in the crash.

The Traffic Collision Investigations squad is investigating the crash and Gang Unit detectives are investigating the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide/Assault tip line at (206)233-5000.
