No One Injured After Seaplane Capsizes in Lake Union

Seattle Police Harbor rescued two men from Lake Union after their Seaplane flipped over during taxiing Saturday afternoon.

Police Harbor began hearing other boaters on the emergency radio channel around 12:10 PM. Rescuers were on their way to the incident before the first 911 call was placed. Officers arrived and got both occupants of the seaplane safely aboard.

The pilot indicated that after the seaplane had landed it slowly began to list to one side, eventually causing the seaplane to rollover in the water before he could make it back to the dock.

Police will work with Federal partners to assure a proper investigation. The seaplane was towed toward shore were commercial salvagers are assisting police with the recovery.
