Man Wounded In Shooting In Meadowbrook Drug Robbery

Detectives are searching for a group of robbers after a 27-year-old man was wounded in a Thursday night shooting in Meadowbrook after an apparent drug deal went awry.

Officers were called to the 11300 block of 35 Avenue Northeast at 11 PM Thursday after receiving reports a man inside a home had been shot.

When officers entered the home they found the victim in the basement, with a gunshot wound to his groin.  Witnesses said three men entered the home and began demanding drugs from the victim.  Two of the suspects pulled out handguns when the victim began fighting with the suspects.  One suspect’s gun went off during the struggle, striking the victim.

The suspects fled the home, but not before taking a few grams of heroin, $400 cash, and a pillow case full of electronics.

Medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Robbery detectives have taken over the investigation and are asking anyone with information to please call them at (206) 684-5535.
