Naked Man Arrested for Burglary, Assault, Drugs in U-District

Officers had a brief struggle with a man in a storage room inside a University District apartment building last night before taking him into custody.

The apartment manager of a building in the 4200 Block of Brooklyn Avenue NE called  to complain that an unknown person had entered the secure building and accessed the storage area.

Around 9:00 pm, the manager informed officers that nobody was allowed in the unit, and that he had the only key.  Officers located the male suspect, who was completely naked, inside the small storage unit.  He refused the officers’ orders to exit.  Officers continued to attempt to de-escalate the situation and have him come out on his own.  He refused, and officers were able to take him into custody after a brief struggle.

While attempting to take him into custody, the suspect turned his head and bit one of the officers’ thumb.  Fortunately, the officer was wearing gloves, and the bite did not break the skin.

The suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for burglary, assault, VUCSA (drugs-he had over 25 grams of meth with him) and possession of stolen property.
