Officers have arrested the suspect after a man was stabbed in the chest Tuesday evening in Pioneer Square.
Shortly before 10:00 PM, police were called to the area of 1 Ave S and S Washington St when a man was stabbed in the chest. Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center with possibly life threatening injuries.
Police began searching the area for the suspect with the help of several witnesses who saw the stabbing and the suspect’s flight. Officers located a man matching the description of the suspect several blocks away at 2 Ave S and S King St.
A witness confirmed that the man police had stopped was the assailant. Officers arrested the man and recovered a bloodied knife believed to be the weapon used in the attack.
Detectives are interviewing the man now and will book the suspect into King County Jail on investigation of assault.
