Law and Order: Special Georgetown Unit

It was 3 AM Sunday morning when an alert security guard, on watch (or break) in the parking lot of the Georgetown Arby’s, looked up from the Law & Order episode playing on his cellphone and spotted a real-life crime-in-progress.

Across the street, the guard spotted a man climbing through the shattered window of a gas station in the 600 block of S. Michigan Street, and emerging moments later carrying a white trash bag.

The guard called 911 and provided police with an excellent description of the suspect.

Police began searching the neighborhood and quickly found the suspect as he approached another gas station near Corson Ave and Michigan St.

Officers arrested the 57-year-old suspect, recovered a garbage bag filled with packs of cigarettes and “white grape-flavored” cigarillos, and booked the man into the King County Jail for investigation of burglary.

Detectives are now investigating the man for several other break-ins in the Georgetown area.
