Officers arrested a 22-year-old man after he set fire to a yacht at Lake Union Sea Ray early this morning.
A nearby homeowner watched the suspect climb onto a boat and light something on fire. The witness was able to provide a detailed description and Officer Bonesteel and Officer Pirak located the suspect several blocks away.
After his arrest, officers found flares and a BBQ lighter in his backpack.
The Seattle Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit responded to the scene and detectives from the Seattle Police Arson/Bomb Squad interviewed the suspect.
The suspect was booked into King County Jail for arson.
