Police arrested one man for assault on Capitol Hill Friday night after things got a bit rowdy at a wedding reception.
Officers were walking an emphasis patrol beat around 10 PM on Capitol Hill when they spotted a group of apparently intoxicated people fighting in a stairwell at the Century Ballroom near 10th Avenue and East Pine Street.
Police saw a 31-year-old man trying to grab another man by the throat, and stepped in to break up the fight. When police intervened, the suspect shoved an officer and was quickly taken into custody.
Officers learned everyone involved in the incident had attended a wedding event at the Century Ballroom just before the brawl. Police booked the intoxicated suspect into the King County Jail for assault.
