United States Attorney Annette Hayes has informed the Seattle Police Department that her office her office and the Civil Rights Division of the US Department of Justice have declined to file federal color of law charges stemming from a June 22, 2014 use of force incident. The case will now be investigated by the Force Investigation Team and the Office of Professional Accountability.
The officer will remain on administrative leave while the internal investigation proceeds.
