UPDATE:Can You Help ID Flasher Who Tried to Steal Woman’s Cellphone?

Update:

It turns out the man in the picture was already in jail.  A Clallam County Sheriffs Sergeant called Seattle Police Detectives today to let them know the suspect had been booked into jail in Clallam County earlier in the week on unrelated charges.

Detectives are now working with the jail to return the suspect to King County Jail to face possible charges here.

Detectives need your help identifying a man who exposed himself to a woman on First Hill late last month and then tried to steal her phone when she called 911.

The 64-year-old victim was walking her dogs in the 1100 block of Boren Avenue on January 27th at 1:00 PM when she noticed the man standing in an alcove down the block.  The man had his pants down and was actively performing a lewd act, and made direct eye contact with the woman and continued with the act as she passed.

When the victim called 911 from her cellphone the man ran up to her and tried to snatch the phone from her hand. The woman’s phone was on a shoulder strap connected to her torso, so when the man grabbed and pulled it, he did so with enough force to drag her nearly 20 feet down the street before letting go and running away.

The woman was shaken, but unhurt.

Police learned the suspect fled into a First Hill hospital, where he was briefly caught on security cameras.

The suspect is reportedly a white male in his 20’s or 30’s, close to 6’ tall, medium build, with light-colored hair, wearing a plaid shirt.
