One Arrested For Drive-By In Lakeridge Woods

Reports of gunfire near a wooded area in the Lakeridge neighborhood Saturday night led police to arrest a 22-year-old felon and seize a handgun.

Around 9:15 PM a witness called 911, reported hearing gunshots near the 10000 block of 68th Avenue South, and said a white Cadillac had sped away from the scene.

Officer Kyle Hay and Ben Frieler spotted a white Cadillac Seville near 57th Avenue South and Rainier Avenue South and followed it until the driver pulled into an apartment complex in the 9000 block of Seward Park Avenue South.

Officers took the 22-year-old driver into custody before finding a revolver and rifle case inside the vehicle.

Police learned the driver–who is a convicted felon and unable to legally possess firearm–had fired a gun while driving through a wooded area along Holyoke Way South. No one was injured in the incident.

Officers booked the 22-year-old driver into the King County Jail for investigation of drive-by shooting and unlawful firearms possession.
