Captain Mike Washburn
I want to extend my congratulations to Captain Mike Washburn on the news that he has been given a conditional offer of employment as Police Chief of the City of Indio, California.
Mike has served the Seattle community with great distinction and his leadership at the South Precinct has led to decreased crime and increased community trust. I thank him sincerely for his support and friendship over the past two years.
Continuity of leadership at the South Precinct is very important and I am pleased to announce that Captain Eric Greening has been selected to succeed Mike as the South Precinct Commander. Eric has served the department as a Lieutenant in the Office of Professional Accountability, South Precinct Watch Commander, East Precinct Operations Lieutenant, and currently as Captain of the Traffic Section.
Eric has strong family ties to the South Precinct and is deeply invested in the safety of that community. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the City University of Seattle and is a recent graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police.
