Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) are investigating following a pedestrian/car collision that occurred Wednesday night near Northgate.
At about 6:15 pm, officers responded along with Seattle Fire to the collision at 5th Avenue NE/NE 115th Street. Police determined a 20-year-old woman was driving southbound on 5th Avenue NE when an 8-year-old girl, who was with an adult and a sibling, crossed westbound on 5th Avenue NE. The driver struck the 8-year-old girl, who was treated at the scene by Seattle Fire and transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries. Police evaluated the driver for any signs of impairment, but none were detected.
TCIS detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this collision.
