Vehicle/Pedestrian Collision Investigation in South Seattle

Detectives are conducting their investigation following a vehicle/pedestrian collision in the 3600 block of South McClellan Street.  The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

The collision occurred today at approximately 1:00 pm.  It is believed that the woman was walking with her dog at the time of the collision. The dog—described as a black lab mix, approximately 40 pounds, with a leash—ran off when the collision occurred, and it is believed that the dog may have sustained injuries as well.

Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded and processed the scene.  Officers evaluated the driver, also a woman in her 70s, and did not find any signs of impairment.

Police are asking anyone who sees the dog to please call 911 and reference SPD report number 2016-227401.  This remains an active and on going investigation.
