Officers Seize Gun, Drugs and Cash After Spotting Stolen Car Downtown

Police recovered a handgun, heroin and cash after officers spotted a stolen car Thursday night on a downtown Seattle street.

Officers David Toner and Cole Nelson were on patrol in the 200 block of Pine Street around 10:15 PM when they saw three people sitting in a grey Acura parked in a loading zone.

After discovering the car had been reported stolen, officers called for backup and contacted the three people in the vehicle. They found two grams of heroin stashed inside a black velvet bag in the driver’s pocket, along with more than $1,100 in cash in the back seat and a loaded handgun in the car’s console.

Officers booked the 21-year-old driver into the King County Jail for possession of stolen property and narcotic possession, and released the two passengers pending further investigation.
