Man Arrested Following Drive-By In South Seattle

A 20-year-old man was arrested Monday in Rainier Beach after he got stuck in traffic while fleeing the scene of a drive-by shooting.

Officers were called to Rainier Avenue South and South Kenyon Street around 3:30 PM after the suspect reportedly fired several shots out of the window of his green Chevy Camaro, damaging a green Lexus. Both vehicles fled the scene.

Police found the suspect at Rainier Avenue South and Seward Park Avenue South, where he’d become stuck in traffic at a stoplight, and arrested him for felony eluding.

Officers also found the damaged–and unoccupied, but still running–Lexus nearby, in the 8400 block of South Grattan Street, where they contacted the vehicle’s owner and confirmed no one was injured.

Gang Unit detectives impounded both vehicles and are investigating the incident.
