Here are the totals from Saturday’s National Drug Take Back Day. Region and national figures are still be tabulated. From 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, October 22nd, people dropped off expired, unwanted and unused prescription medication at the five Seattle Police Department precincts. Here are the numbers:
South Precinct: 139 pounds
East Precinct: 182 pounds
West Precinct: 102 pounds
North Precinct: 466 pounds
Southwest Precinct: 320 pounds
For a grand total of 1,209 pounds. This was the best effort to date, beating the old record by several hundred pounds. There will be another opportunity to do it again in the spring. Thank you to all who participated.
