15-Year-Old Burglars Caught Shortly After Ransacking Central District Home

Police arrested two teen burglars Friday, just minutes after they fled a Central District home with bags full of computers, car keys and other electronics.

Around 3:45 PM, a neighbor in the 1800 block of 30th Avenue called 911 and reported two suspicious teens creeping through the yard of a nearby home.

Officers Eric Cole and Taylor Moreland arrived and found a broken window on the ground floor of the home. Police learned the teens had rifled through drawers and closets throughout the home and made off with small electronics, as well as the residents’ car and scooter keys.

Police began searching the neighborhood and found the two 15-year-old suspects waiting at a bus stop. Officers arrested both of the teens and recovered the victims’ stolen items, along with a small stash of foreign currency.

Both teens were booked into the King County Youth Service Center for investigation of burglary.
