Three People Injured in Belltown Shooting, Detectives Investigating-UPDATE

UPDATE:  The shooting that occurred on Thursday, January 19th in Belltown is being investigated as a gang-related drive-by shooting.  Since last week, Seattle Police and other area agencies have been investigating at least six separate shootings that have been targeting property in South Seattle and South King County.  Seattle Police have been meeting regularly with federal and local law enforcement agencies sharing information.  Most of the shots fired  in the past week have targeted houses and vehicles.   Detectives are still actively working to identify the suspect and suspect vehicle. Anyone with information on the Belltown shooting or any of the other incidents is asked to contact Det. Detectives are investigating following a shooting that occurred Thursday evening in the Belltown neighborhood.  Three people, two women and one man, were injured when an unknown suspect fired a weapon striking them.  The three victims were transported to Harborview Medical Center.  The suspect fled the scene.

At 10:50 pm Seattle Police responded to numerous calls of a shooting in the 2200 block of 2nd Avenue.  The initial reports were of multiple shots fired, and several injured individuals in a crowded club located in that block.  Officers responded to the scene and located the victims.  Seattle Fire treated the victims at the scene and then transported them to Harborview for further medical treatment.  The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detectives from the Gang Unit and the Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) Unit responded to begin the investigation.  Detectives are speaking with witnesses to come up with any suspect description.  This remains an active and on going investigation.  Anyone with any information on this shooting is asked to contact Seattle Police.
