Just before 4:00 am, officers responded to the 500 block of Melrose Avenue East.  Officers located an adult male who had been stabbed in the neck with a pen inside the enclosed entry way of the building.  Officers provided first aid to the man to stop the bleeding until Seattle Fire medics arrived to take over the medical treatment.  The victim was transported by medics to HMC where he is currently receiving treatment for his injury.

Officers searched the area for the suspect but did not locate the suspect. It is unknown at this time what led up to the confrontation between the suspect and victim.  Officers processed the scene and detectives will now conduct the follow up investigation.
