Officers quickly arrested a man Wednesday morning after he attempted to rob an espresso stand in the 2900 block of 4 Ave S.
A 20-year-old woman working at a drive-up espresso stand heard a knock at the door just after 4:30 AM. She opened the door, believing it was her manager, when an unknown man pushed his way inside.
The 64-year-old suspect demanded the victim’s phone, which she refused to turn over. The suspect then punched the woman in the face as the two struggled over her purse. The woman was able to throw her purse out the window before she jumped out the same window and called 911.
The suspect fled the scene but was captured minutes later by officers as they were arriving in the area. Officers booked the man into King County Jail for robbery.
