Quick Response Leads to Capture of Shooting Suspects

South Precinct patrol officers responded to the 4500 block of 15 Avenue around 1:20 p.m. today to investigate a report of a shooting.

Officers quickly located an adult male victim suffering from a non-life threatening gun shot wound. Seattle Fire medics arrived on scene and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for emergency care.

Witnesses provided a description of the suspects and the car they fled in.

Police quickly located the car, abandoned about six blocks away.

Shortly after that, police found the four suspects – three young men and one young woman. Officers also found the gun they believe was used in the shooting.

Ages are unknown at this time, but police believe all four suspects are in their late teens or early twenties. Police transported the suspects to Seattle Police Headquarters for additional questioning.

Police called tow trucks to bring both the victim’s car and the suspects’ getaway car to the SPD Processing Room for additional forensic investigation.

Officers will place the handgun into evidence for forensic analysis.

Sergeant Maccarrone commended the quick response and coordination of 2nd Watch South Precinct patrol officers and K9 Officer Gregorio as contributing factors in the successful capture of these shooting suspects.

This remains an active and ongoing criminal investigation. Information is subject to change as the investigation proceeds.
