Officers arrested a felon Friday evening after neighbors called in reports of a man carrying a firearm through the Leschi neighborhood.
Witnesses called 911 Friday evening to report a male with a handgun in the 2800 block of South Jackson St.
Officers arrived and spotted a man matching the description walking near their parked patrol car. As the man walked past officers, he pulled a cell phone from his pocket revealing a handgun concealed in his pants. Officers stopped the man and verified that he is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Officers booked the suspect into King County Jail for unlawful possession of a firearm.
