Man Wounded After Fight Leads to Shooting In Belltown

A 27-year-old man was wounded in a shooting early Friday after he was involved in a fight outside of a Belltown nightclub.

Police responded to reports of gunfire at 1st Avenue and Blanchard Street around 1:40 AM and found the 27-year-old victim lying on the sidewalk.

Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening grazing gunshot wounds to his chest and leg.

Officers received conflicting information from witnesses at the scene, but believe the incident began with a fight in front of a nightclub in the 2200 block of 1st Ave.

The victim of the shooting was reportedly involved in the fight and then ran to a parking lot, where he was chased and then shot by a second man.

Detectives are still working to identify the suspect in the incident and are examining whether the incident may be connected to other recent shootings in Seattle.
