Detectives served a search warrant on the suspect’s car this week and recovered multiple weapons. Detectives are now working with prosecutors to determine if any additional charges will be filed in this case.

A man suspected of opening fire on another motorist in a drive-by shooting earlier this month was arrested by SPD Gang Unit detectives Thursday evening.
Detectives believe the 18-year-old man was behind the wheel of a gold Toyota Camry on May 11th when he fired at a man in a black Lexus in the 6400 block of 32nd Avenue South on Beacon Hill. No one was injured in the incident.
Gang Unit detectives began investigating the case and were able to link the Camry to the suspect, who has previously been convicted of shooting a gang rival in South Seattle in 2015.
Detectives began searching for the man and, around 5 pm on May 25th , located him outside a Department of Corrections office, where he’d been scheduled to meet with his DOC supervisor. The man saw police approaching as he was getting into his gold Camry, and took off running. He was caught a short time later.
Officers arrested the man, impounded his car–which is actually registered in his grandmother’s name–and located two bullet holes covered in duct tape on the vehicle. He was booked into the King County Jail for drive-by shooting.
