Officers Investigating Saturday Night Pioneer Square Shooting

Witnesses began calling 911 just before 11 p.m. Saturday to report shots fired in the 500 block of 3 Avenue. The witnesses told officers that that there was some type of altercation between two people before one got into a car and drove off.  They said the car returned moments later when two people on the sidewalk began firing shots at the passing car.  The witnesses said the suspects ran Northbound on 3 Avenue while the vehicle continued on out of the area.

Officers later found the victim’s vehicle disabled near Terrace Street and Boren Avenue with one gunshot wound victim still inside.  Dispatch advised officers that a second gunshot victim with non life-threatening injuries had walked into the emergency room at approximately the same time. Seattle Fire Department medics transported the victim from the car to Harborview Medical Center also with non life-threatening injuries.

Gang unit detectives have taken the lead on this investigation and recovered 24 shell casings from the shooting scene.  Detectives also impounded the the victim’s vehicle for follow-up investigation.
