Around 12:20 am Wednesday morning, Southwest Precinct officers were dispatched to the 8800 block of 42nd Avenue SW for a report of a man trying car door handles. As officers were arriving in the area, the call was updated to state that a witness observed the suspect had made entry into one of the parked cars and was now walking away on foot. Officers located a man matching the suspect description and detained him. Officers contacted the witness who positively identified the man as the person seen entering the car. Officers contacted the owner of the car entered and confirmed that items left in the console was missing.
Officers arrested 37-year-old male and later booked him into the King County Jail.
This case has been assigned to a detective for the follow up investigation.
