Two People Struck By Gunfire Overnight

Witnesses began calling 911 just before 2 a.m. Saturday to report shots fired near 5 Avenue and Denny Way. Officers arrived and found two people had been struck by gunfire.

Witnesses told officers a black SUV passed a group of people walking eastbound along Denny Way when a passenger opened fire.  A man was stuck in the leg and a woman was hit in the heel. Both victims sustained non life-threatening injuries.

Officers stopped a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s but later determined it was not involved in the shooting.

Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and transported both victims to Harborview Medical Center.
