Rollover Collision in Maple Leaf Leaves Four People Injured

Officers responded to an assault call in the 11100 block of Roosevelt Way NE just before 5:00 am Friday morning.  Before officers arrived, the male suspect left in a vehicle headed southbound on Roosevelt with an adult female passenger and two small children inside.  As officers arrived at the original assault call, reports of a rollover collision came in from the 9200 block of Roosevelt Way NE.

Officers respond to collision scene and saw that the suspect vehicle had struck several parked cars before rolling over.  Officers assisted with getting the passengers out of the car, while Seattle Fire had to cut open the car to extract the male driver.  The female and children had minor injuries, while the male driver had more serious injuries. His injuries are not life-threatening.  All of the passengers were transported to Harborview Medical Center.

It is believed that alcohol and excessive speed was a factor in this collision.  The driver is being evaluated at the hospital.

Roosevelt Way NE has since reopened to traffic.  This remains an active and on-going investigation.
