Fake FBI credentials, counterfeit warrants, handcuffs, a pistol and a pellet gun were just a few of the items police seized last month after arresting a 42-year-old man suspected of robbing a Seattle-area business while posing as a federal agent.
Now detectives are seeking other businesses or victims who may have been targeted by the suspect, but who have not yet contacted police.
In the suspect’s first known robbery in January, he flashed a badge at a money transfer business near 23rd Avenue and Jackson Street, identified himself as “FBI” and showed a document claiming he had a warrant to search the business.
The suspect demanded to see the business’s transaction records, ordered the employee to open a safe and later pulled a handgun on him.
Suspect stole a large amount of cash from the business and forced the employee to turn over surveillance equipment before locking him in a back room and fleeing.
Police arrested Steven Fisher in August for booked for robbery, criminal impersonation, kidnapping and fraud. Detectives are also investigating him for another incident in July as well and working to determine whether he may have been responsible for other similar crimes in the Puget Sound region.
