Detectives are investigating after an apparent homicide near an International District homeless camp.

Officers responded to the 900 block of South Jackson Street just after 6 p.m. for a report of a woman who had been injured. When officers arrived they found a woman who had a severe injury to the head. Officers called for Seattle Fire Department Medics who transported the woman to Harborview Medical Center where she was declared dead.
