Officers Investigating Shooting in Leschi, 15-Year-Old Girl Injured

A 15-year-old girl is recovering in the hospital after she was injured when she was struck by gunfire Saturday night in the Leschi neighborhood.

At approximately 8:15 pm, officers responded to the 3800 block of East Superior Street for a report of a shooting.  Officers arrived and found the victim who had been struck in the back.  She was transported to Harborview Medical Center by Seattle Fire medics.  The injury is not believed to be life-threatening, and the victim was alert and conscious when she was transported.

Officers began their investigation and determined that there had been a party at the residence earlier in the evening.  Several people showed up at the party uninvited and had been asked to leave, which they did.  Shortly thereafter 3-5 shots were fired from outside the house.  The female victim was standing inside the house and was struck by a bullet that went through the front door.

Officers searched the area for physical evidence and searched the area for a possible suspect vehicle, but did not locate one.

Detectives will handle the follow up investigation.
