Officers arrested a man for kidnapping after he attempted to snatch a child from a First Hill apartment building.

A father called 911 just before 10 p.m. Saturday to report a man had just attempted to kidnap his child.  The man told officers that the child had been playing in the breezeway of their apartment building in the 100 block of Boren Avenue when an unknown man walked up to the child, picked him up, and began to run away.  The parent began yelling at the suspect who was approximately 125 feet away when the suspect dropped the child and continued to flee.

The father provided officers with a description of the suspect and within three minutes they were able to find the suspect and take him into custody.

Officers booked the suspect into King County Jail for investigation of kidnapping.
