A victim is recovering at the hospital and a suspect is in custody following an early morning stabbing in the International District.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at 2:30 am Saturday at 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street. Officers located an injured 37-year-old man at that location. Seattle Fire responded and treated the victim at the scene, and then transported him to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment for non life-threatening injuries.
Officers spoke with a witness who provided a suspect description. A perimeter was established and a K9 team responded to the scene. A few blocks away a 51-year-old male suspect was located and taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for investigation of assault and an outstanding warrant. Detectives will handle the follow up investigation.
