Officers Track Stolen MacBook from University Village to Beacon Hill Gas Station

Officers crossed three Seattle precincts to track down a man’s stolen Macbook on Sunday after it was stolen in a car prowl at University Village.

Two men called police around 9:30 PM on Sunday after discovering someone had smashed their car window and stolen two backpacks, one of which contained a MacBook.

The men began tracking the laptop on their phones, and told police it had moved through the downtown area and up to Beacon Hill.

Two East Precinct officers met with the men, who directed officers to a gas station on 15th Avenue South and Beacon Avenue South, in the South Precinct.

There, officers spotted the lone vehicle in the lot, occupied by a woman. Police contacted the woman, who turned over the victims’ laptop. Officers also found she was in possession of a number of different credit cards taken in recent car prowls.

Police arrested the 26-year-old woman and booked her into the King County Jail for possession of stolen property.
