Man Arrested For Bringing Manhole Cover to Pioneer Square Music Store

Police arrested a 40-year-old man for violating a court order in Pioneer Square Monday afternoon after he returned to a neighborhood store, from which he had previously been banned, while brandishing a manhole cover.

An employee of a music store in the 10 block of South Washington Street called 911  at 4:15 p.m. to report a man who had previously caused problems at the store, and was outside the store holding a small manhole cover in violation of a court order.

Officers responded to the area and spotted the man no longer holding the manhole cover. The suspect struggled with officers briefly before he was taken into custody.

Police booked the man into King County Jail for a violation of a court order and a warrant for assault.
