Shooting in Georgetown

On January 14th, at approximately 4:45 am, 911 received a single call of four to five shots fired in the area of the 5900 Block of Airport Way South.  South Precinct officers responded and canvassed the area, but did not locate anything.  About an hour later, officers received information that a victim with a gunshot wound had arrived at Harborview Medical Center.

Officers responded to the hospital and located several women who had driven the victim to the hospital.  They did not provide much information on the shooting or their involvement, but did provide statements to the officers.

A second search of the area of the original call was conducted and officers determined that the likely shooting scene was in the 900 Block of South Doris Street.  A number of shell casings were located.  They were collected and submitted into evidence.

The 36 year old male victim remains in the hospital.  His injuries are not considered life-threatening.  This remains an active and on going investigation.
