On March 24th at approximately 11:59 p.m. officers responded to a 911 call of a “man with a gun” out in front of a bar in the 2800 block of Alki Avenue SW. Further 911 calls stated that there were shots fired.
Preliminary investigation indicates that two adult males (the suspect and victim) got into some sort of altercation. The suspect, who had been kicked out of the bar earlier in the evening, fired a gun at the 28-year-old victim in the alley behind the 2800 block of Alki Avenue SW. The victim was not hit nor injured in the altercation. The suspect then fled the scene in a silver Subaru.
Responding officers located the suspect in his vehicle traveling southbound on Harbor Avenue SW. The suspect was stopped and arrested without further incident.
Officers also recovered the gun believed to be the one used by the suspect. His vehicle was impounded and taken to the evidence garage for processing. No property damage was located as a result of the incident.
The suspect was transported to the Southwest Precinct and interviewed by Gang Unit detectives.
The 26-year-old male suspect was subsequently booked into the King County Jail.
Gang Unit detectives will be handling the active and on-going investigation.
