Suspect in a Burglary-in-Progress is Arrested in West Seattle

Quick responding officers catch a burglar actively trying to break into a house in West Seattle.

On February 22nd at approximately 1:01 p.m. a witness saw a man trying to break into the rear door of a house in the 5000 block of 35th Avenue SW and called 911.

Officers quickly responded and set up containment around the residence.  As an officer and sergeant approached the front of the house they encountered the male suspect trying to escape from the yard.

The suspect fled out the south gate but was intercepted by an officer who was on the south east side of the residence and blocked the suspect from going down into Camp Long.

The 24-year-old male suspect was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary.

This remains an active and on-going burglary investigation.
