If you were trying to catch a bus or train home from the downtown transit tunnel last night, you might’ve felt a slight disturbance in the force—as if millions of police sirens suddenly cried out, and were suddenly silenced.
That’s because just before 10 pm Sunday evening, a tunnel security guard found a suspicious looking device and called police, who closed the tunnel and called in the Arson/Bomb Squad.
ABS detectives initially had a very bad feeling about the device and thought it might be dangerous.
However, after some careful investigation, police now believe the suspicious device was a homemade lightsaber.
The lightsaber—presumably constructed in anticipation of May 4th (May the 4th be with you!)—was made out of a flashlight, a plastic toy, duct tape, battery, and string.
