Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) are investigating a rollover collision involving a stolen Lexus SUV that occurred yesterday morning in West Seattle.
Yesterday, at about 9:40 am, a beige 2002 Lexus SUV was travelling north on Harbor Avenue SW. The Lexus lost control around SW Florida Street, hitting three parked cars and rolling over. The driver of the Lexus then got out and fled on foot. The four other occupants, two females and two males, stayed with the rolled over SUV.
Seattle Fire responded and treated the passengers for their injuries. Three of the people were transported to Harborview Medical Center via ambulance for their injuries, which were later determined to be minor. The fourth person, an adult male, was evaluated at the scene by SFD, but declined further medical attention.
Officers searched for the driver who fled, but that person was not located. Officers determined that the Lexus had recently been stolen.
TCIS detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours while the investigation was conducted, but has since been reopened. This remains an active investigation.
